In a role that arguably catapulted him into the top echelon of contemporary actors, Tom Hanks plays a 13-year-old in a 30-year-old body in this terrific comedy/drama about being careful what you wish for.

Supported by a cast that includes perky Elizabeth Perkins, Robert Loggia, John Heard, and last but not least Jon Lovitz, this Penny Marshall film somehow manages to tug at heartstrings while simultaneously making us laugh and cringe.
