Was the 1984 film "Romancing the Stone" really a deep dive into the emerging (some would say emerged) modern feminism, with Kathleen Turner's Joan Wilder character coming into her own after a series of misadventures, and setting the tone for strong female characters to follow, or was it just a fun little rom-com-adventure? We think it was...both. But whatever it was, the undeniable chemistry between Turner and Michael Douglas set the stage for a sequel and the War of the Roses. But we'll save those for a different episode. This episode focuses exclusively on the film that began it all.
