One of the - dare we say truly iconic - films of the mid-1980s, the original The Karate Kid, featuring Ralph Macchio, Noriyuki (Pat) Morita, Elisabeth Shue and William Zabka, is a sweet underdog story about Daniel LaRusso, a Jersey kid who moves to southern California with his mother, falls in love, gets his butt kicked repeatedly by local bullies, and eventually exacts some revenge and earns respect under the tutelage of a Japanese-American war hero and building maintenance man, Mr. Miyagi.

This film has it all - great 80s music and fashion, a sweet love story, leather-clad, motorcycle-riding bad guys, a couple of great montage sequences, and so much more.
